Day 262--The Dinner

I have to milk this party thing for all its worth...

The menu consisted of chicken, beef, shrimp and an assortment of veggies--All raw, so the girls could cook their own food in the fondue pots. They all had a great time and even the picky eaters tried food they normally wouldn't!

After dinner I divided the girls into two teams and sent them on a scavenger hunt around the neighborhood. Each team had to follow clues to three houses before heading home. They weren't given addresses, but were given a "life line" in event they got stuck or lost.

Day 263--The Gift

video
Bob tells me a few days ago, "I did something impulsive last night, I bought (it was actually free) Eliza a phone for her birthday." This met with moans and groans from me because I am a vocal non-advocate of pre-teen cell phone ownership. Never the less, daddy was feeling sorry for his technology deprived firstborn and wanted his daughter to be IN the in crowd.

It was fun to watch the other girls' reactions. They were equally as excited for Eliza and spent the rest of the night texting, exchanging phone info, taking photos, setting ringtones etc....oh brother!

Eliza was literally the last of her friends to get a cell phone and she's ONLY 12!

Day 264--Prep for a party

Monday is Eliza's birthday, so tonight we are celebrating with a fondue dinner party. I had to take a photo of the pretty table we set. These are her favorite colors.

Day 265--Gift from Kit'ten

So...I came home and while hurrying up the stairs, out of the corner of my eye I see some feathers and I think to myself, that cat has torn up another stuffed animal. I continue up the stairs where I encounter more downy feathers, then at the top I find a bunch of wing feathers. At that point I am thinking, "oh crap, the cat has killed a bird somewhere in the house." I didn't have to go far to find the bird. Kit'ten left him for me on my bedroom floor.

Not a very good shot, but that is a feather in my cat's mouth. I later discovered feathers in my closet. I am amazed at how many feathers a bird can lose and still look completely feathered.

Notice the legs--Somehow, my cat broke both legs off the bird--poor thing.

No eating, just killing and quickest way is to take a bit out of the belly.

Day 267--Halloween

Funny story about these tights I am wearing. I swear I bought these for myself a few years ago, but when I put them on (30 minutes before the ward party) I found that these were Eliza's size from 4 years ago and the pantie only came to my mid-rear. I ended up wearing black shorts to keep my stockings from falling off my hinney the entire night.

Eden wore three costumes this year. 1.Popcorn box for Fox morning news (see previous entry) 2.Witch for her school party and the ward party (I don't know why I don't have a photo of her--she did her own makeup, green face and red chin;very cute!) And lastly, by the day of Halloween she wanted to be Tinker Bell. She said she was tired of being the witch, so we dug this cute costume out of her dress up bin.

Day 268, I just need to catch up!

Once behind always behind, I just can't keep up with this daily blogging business. I mean really, did the plains-crossing pioneers write every day? No, because we know how their days were spent, "Pioneer children sang as they walked and walked and walked and walked..." Do we think any less of them because they didn't make a daily notation? Although, wasn't it Wilford Woodruff who kept a daily journal for like 60 years? His annals are some of the most precious historical records held by the church. I digress...This 365 day project is intended to give a sampling of my life, a record for me and my kids (and a few good friends who want to check in on the Neal's now and then). I am under no illusion it will fall into the category of "precious record" so, I will give myself a break and post Halloween pictures tomorrow and not feel badly for the missed days in between entries.
